Here’s the first item on the block: The jacket I’m wearing in today’s post! My Gangsta Pranksta jacket from Lip Service. If you’d like to bid on it, click here.

Someday I will be another one of those losers, and join Tim.
You guys. Stylization and Realism are two side of the same coin. They are not mutually exclusive. You can’t properly do one without knowing the other. Don’t deny yourself and entire facet of art history because it’s “not your thing”. The more the DA / Tumblr community differentiate themselves from “traditional” or “historical” art the less anyone will take them seriously. Drawings are drawings. Art is art. Get over it.
Anime stuff is fine but Crack open a Raphael book once in a while. SHEESH.
I’ve seen this weird dichotomy in the “internet art” community a lot. No one has to make anything photo realistic or super stylized. It is what it is. But when you refuse to learn another technique you are only hurting yourself, and when it becomes accepted and encouraged to be like “well that’s my style” then it hurts your community and the medium as a whole.
